Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using pallet jacks and forklifts to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and logbooks within legal hours of service (HOS).
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while representing the Apex brand.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional truck driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and DOT drug screen clearance.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission and perform basic vehicle maintenance.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel between Massachusetts and North Carolina routes as needed.
