Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo accurately and securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads according to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time, mileage, and delivery records using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and cargo status.
- Uphold a high standard of customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
- Ensure the truck cabin and cargo area are kept clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and navigation systems.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Valid medical card (DOT) and proof of insurance.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for performing minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
