Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently transport cargo across state lines and local routes in New York and the Northeast.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load & Unload Cargo: Secure freight properly using straps, chains, and binders to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Complete daily logs (DVIR), bill of lading (BOL), and delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
- Adhere to Regulations: Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies at all times.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must be held for at least 1 year of verifiable experience.
- Clean MVR: No major moving violations, DUIs, or drug-related convictions within the last 3-5 years.
- Current DOT Medical Card: Must be valid and not expiring.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to read and write in English and communicate clearly on the radio or phone.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physical stamina to lift, push, and pull cargo weighing up to 100 lbs.
