Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for local/regional routes within San Jose Bay Area
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance logs
- Coordinate with dispatch to optimize delivery schedules and ensure on-time performance
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques per industry standards
- Utilize GPS technology for route navigation and real-time traffic monitoring
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding shipment status
- Adhere to all federal/state regulations and company safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean MVR
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of California transportation regulations and route planning
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Flexibility for early morning start times and occasional weekend shifts
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELD)
