Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight within Illinois and surrounding states
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) compliance
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Collaborate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and on-time deliveries
- Ensure proper cargo securing and adherence to DOT/HOS regulations
- Represent MetroLogistics with professional conduct at all customer sites
- Participate in ongoing safety training and performance reviews
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Chicago metropolitan area roadways and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of freight documentation and delivery procedures
