Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to deliver cargo to designated locations on schedule.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and delivery paperwork.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of Chicago area roads and local traffic patterns.
- Physically capable of lifting and handling cargo up to 50 lbs.
