Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including Class A and Class B vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment (forklift, pallet jack) to ensure cargo integrity and safety.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and delivery paperwork in compliance with federal regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Ensure the security of freight during transit and handle claims or discrepancies professionally.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A (or Class B for specific regional roles) license required.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check.
- Basic English reading and writing skills for log completion and communication.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
