Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently within the Midwest region.
- Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, and binders to ensure load integrity and prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with dispatch and consignees.
- Uphold a clean, professional image at all times while representing Metro Haulers.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) available at time of hire.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and criminal background check.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a team environment.
