Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on regional routes within North Carolina and surrounding states
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight using proper techniques and equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and timely deliveries
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding shipment status and potential delays
- Complete electronic logging system (ELD) documentation accurately and timely
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with hazmat materials (H endorsement preferred)
- Proficient in using electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Excellent time management and communication skills
