Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (tractor-trailers) to transport freight safely to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DOT compliant) and vehicle inspection reports (DVIR).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the State of Kansas.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT card) and DOT physical.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and safety regulations (FMCSA).
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
