Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all FMCSA and company regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual labor, ensuring cargo integrity and weight distribution.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any mechanical issues or damages immediately.
- Observe all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and other motorists.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery documentation.
- Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure timely and courteous service.
- Assist with general warehouse duties during down-time, including inventory organization and cleanup.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and pre-trip inspection procedures.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and background check.
- Willingness to relocate to Virginia or operate within the Omaha and Virginia territory.
- Basic math skills and computer proficiency for paperwork.
