Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and compliance of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling as required.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours (ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues and confirm stop locations.
- Ensure the secure transport of goods, protecting them from damage during transit.
- Uphold a professional appearance and attitude while representing the Apex Logistics brand.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of highway and traffic laws, as well as safety regulations.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holidays as needed.
