Responsibilities
- Operate Class A or Class B commercial trucks safely and efficiently to deliver freight within the Oakland and surrounding Bay Area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all DOT compliance standards are met.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques safely.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and customer service standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedule changes or delivery issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) required; Hazmat or Tanker endorsements are a plus.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) and pass a background check.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends if necessary.
