Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A or Class B vehicles to transport cargo safely and efficiently to designated drop-off points.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight using hand tools, pallet jacks, or forklifts, ensuring weight distribution is accurate.
- Verify delivery documents and obtain signatures from recipients while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab and cargo area; report any vehicle maintenance needs promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods during shifts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of cargo securing and DOT safety regulations.
