Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local/intermediate freight delivery
- Manage efficient loading/unloading of diverse cargo types
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
- Optimize routes for on-time delivery performance
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (MVR required)
- Minimum 2 years box truck experience in Michigan
- Reliable box truck (24-26ft) or willingness to lease
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
- Strong knowledge of Detroit metro area geography
- Basic mechanical aptitude for roadside maintenance
- Smartphone with reliable data access
- Independent contractor status required
