Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for regional freight deliveries in Atlanta metro area
- Manage efficient route planning to maximize daily mileage and delivery windows
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and customer communication logs
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Optimize load utilization while adhering to weight and safety regulations
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time schedule adjustments
- Uphold professional standards during client interactions and at delivery sites
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience
- Proof of commercial liability insurance ($1M+ coverage)
- DOT medical certification and required endorsements
- Reliable box truck (26' or larger) in good mechanical condition
- Smartphone with GPS and reliable internet connectivity
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally for loading/unloading assistance
- Basic accounting skills for independent contractor management
