Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Box Trucks: Safely and efficiently transport cargo to designated delivery points in and around Jersey City, NJ.
- Load and Unload Freight: Ensure all cargo is loaded securely and unloaded according to customer specifications.
- Maintain Vehicle Condition: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the box truck is in optimal mechanical condition.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS and mapping tools to plan the most efficient routes, avoiding traffic delays and adhering to delivery windows.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and warehouse personnel to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary shipping and receiving paperwork, bills of lading, and logs.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B: Must hold a valid commercial driver's license with the appropriate endorsements.
- Box Truck Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable experience driving a box truck or straight truck.
- Commercial Insurance: Proof of current commercial auto liability insurance coverage.
- Clean Driving Record: No DUIs, reckless driving violations, or serious moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Self-Management: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting strict delivery deadlines.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks at loading docks.
