Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial box trucks to transport freight from origin to destination in and around Anchorage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and cargo are in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing proper tie-down techniques to prevent damage.
- Plan efficient routes and manage delivery schedules to meet customer expectations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours (ELD) and delivery records.
- Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
- Proof of current medical certification (DOT medical card).
- Ownership or reliable lease agreement for a 26' box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the logistics or freight industry.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents in the last 3 years.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and DOT regulations.
