Responsibilities
- Safe and timely delivery of freight throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance
- Effective communication with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Maintaining accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging
- Route optimization to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Proactive problem-solving for delivery challenges and exceptions
- Coordination with warehouse teams for efficient loading/unloading
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of box truck driving experience
- DOT medical certification and required documentation
- Reliable box truck (26' or smaller) in excellent condition
- Smartphone with GPS and reliable communication capabilities
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Familiarity with DC metro traffic patterns and delivery zones
