Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided box trucks for local/regional freight delivery
- Optimize routes to meet tight delivery deadlines while adhering to DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation for each shipment
- Perform daily pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team to ensure seamless freight coordination
- Uphold exceptional customer service during all client interactions
- Manage loading/unloading processes efficiently at distribution centers
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable box truck or straight truck experience
- Strong knowledge of Newark/NJ roadways and surrounding areas
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and pass DOT physical examination
- Reliable smartphone with GPS and constant connectivity
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Commercial liability insurance ($1M minimum)
- DOT medical certification
