Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to deliver freight to designated stops on time and in perfect condition.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any defects or damages immediately.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (lift gates, dollies) while ensuring cargo security.
- Observe all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete all necessary delivery paperwork (Bills of Lading, manifests).
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and the public at every stop.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding traffic conditions, delays, and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card and acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen as required by safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Willingness to work varying shifts and travel regionally throughout Maryland and surrounding areas.
