Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks (24-26 ft) for local and regional freight delivery
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation per DOT regulations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with dispatch team to optimize routes and on-time deliveries
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of diverse cargo types
- Uphold Elite Transport's service standards and customer satisfaction protocols
- Manage fuel efficiency and operational cost controls
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metro area and surrounding regions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Reliable personal box truck (24-26 ft) in excellent condition
- Commercial auto liability insurance ($1M minimum coverage)
- Smartphone with reliable internet for dispatch communication
- Flexibility for early morning/weekend shifts as needed
