Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local/regional deliveries (avg. 1,200 miles/week)
- Manage loading/unloading operations with proper freight handling
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, IFTA reports, and compliance documentation
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance
- Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and on-time delivery rates
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean MVR (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience
- Reliable 26ft+ box truck in DOT-compliant condition
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate basic loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of regional geography and traffic patterns
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Current DOT medical certification
- Commercial auto liability insurance ($1M minimum)
