Responsibilities
- Operate your own box truck (24-26 ft) for local and regional deliveries within the NYC metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all shipments
- Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining strict compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational readiness
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status and delays
- Manage loading/unloading operations with proper equipment and safety protocols
- Optimize routes to minimize transit times and maximize daily mileage
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience with box trucks
- Proof of commercial insurance (liability coverage minimum $1M)
- Reliable 24-26 ft box truck in good mechanical condition
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation and electronic logging devices
- Strong knowledge of NYC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
