Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks (26-26,000 lbs GVWR) for time-sensitive deliveries in Washington, DC metro area
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation tools while adhering to DOT regulations and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate electronic logs, delivery manifests, and vehicle inspection reports
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventive maintenance on owned equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service during residential/commercial deliveries
- Coordinate with dispatch team to resolve delivery exceptions and route adjustments
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred) with clean MVR and no major violations in 3 years
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience in urban delivery environments
- Proof of commercial insurance ($1M liability coverage)
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Reliable late-model box truck (2008+ model) with current registration and inspection
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and smartphone navigation apps
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
