Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local/regional deliveries within 200-mile radius
- Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules and maximize fuel economy
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle inspections, and required documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time load adjustments and customer communications
- Ensure cargo security and proper handling during transportation
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and coordinate repairs as needed
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean MVR
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck driving experience
- Reliable box truck (24-26ft) in good mechanical condition
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Strong knowledge of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area
- Basic smartphone proficiency for communication apps
- Proof of commercial liability insurance ($1M minimum)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
