Our Austin hub is a think tank for exponential technologies, offering unparalleled resources for prototyping and testing future-forward concepts. This position reports directly to our Chief Futurist and includes equity in our moonshot ventures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 innovation strategy spanning AI, biotech, and climate tech domains
- Lead cross-functional teams of futurists, engineers, and designers in rapid prototyping cycles
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and government innovation labs
- Produce annual 'State of 2026' reports for C-suite and board stakeholders
- Manage $5M+ annual R&D budget for experimental technology initiatives
- Curate quarterly Future Tech Summits featuring industry pioneers
- Drive ethical frameworks for emerging technologies with global impact
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic innovation or futurist roles with Fortune 500 or scale-up companies
- Proven track record of launching technologies with 3-5 year market impact
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, AGI, synthetic biology, etc.)
- Executive presence with ability to influence C-suite and board decisions
- Published thought leadership in technology or innovation journals
- Advanced degree in technology, business, or futures studies
- Certification in strategic foresight or innovation management preferred
- Experience managing distributed global innovation teams
