This role combines cutting-edge research with practical implementation to create competitive advantages in rapidly evolving markets.
As a key member of our R&D leadership team, you'll collaborate with C-suite executives, research scientists, and product architects to translate future possibilities into actionable roadmaps. You'll have access to our state-of-the-art Innovation Lab and a budget of $2M annually for experimental projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze emerging technologies (quantum computing, biotech fusion, neural interfaces) and their market implications through 2030
- Develop strategic innovation roadmaps aligning with company's 2026-2030 vision
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype future-facing solutions
- Present findings to executive board and investors through compelling data visualizations
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and research labs
- Monitor global tech policy shifts and regulatory landscapes
- Mentor junior futurists and conduct trend forecasting workshops
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Technology Strategy, Futures Studies, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 8+ years in innovation strategy, R&D leadership, or futurism consulting
- Proven track record of translating future trends into commercial products
- Expertise in at least two emerging technology domains (AI, blockchain, etc.)
- Exceptional data modeling and scenario planning capabilities
- Published thought leadership in tech futurism (whitepapers, patents, etc.)
- Experience with horizon scanning methodologies and trend analysis tools
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
