Responsibilities
- Architect and execute a 2026 technology foresight strategy identifying disruptive innovations in AI, quantum computing, and biotech
- Lead cross-functional incubation teams to prototype and validate next-gen solutions with $5M+ annual R&D budget
- Develop patentable frameworks for emerging tech integration with existing enterprise systems
- Present strategic roadmaps to board members and investors securing $50M+ in innovation funding
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions (MIT, Stanford) and national labs (NASA, CERN)
- Author thought leadership publications read by Fortune 500 CTOs and government technology councils
- Mentor PhD-level researchers in translating theoretical breakthroughs to market-ready applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 10+ years in emerging tech R&D
- Proven track record of commercializing breakthrough technologies (3+ patents or unicorn exits)
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum machine learning, neuromorphic computing, or synthetic biology
- Experience securing $10M+ in government grants or corporate innovation funding
- Published author in Nature/Science with 500+ citations in technology forecasting
- Proficiency in futures methodologies (Delphi, horizon scanning) and scenario planning frameworks
- Fluency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Previous CTO/VP Innovation role scaling tech teams to 500+ members
