Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing frameworks
- Develop error mitigation protocols for near-term quantum processors
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF, DoD, and industry partners
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
- Translate theoretical models into scalable quantum software prototypes
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or variational algorithms
- Expertise in quantum hardware architecture (superconducting, trapped ion, or photonic)
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and computational complexity
- Proven track record of securing government or corporate research funding
- Experience mentoring technical teams and leading academic collaborations
