Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm design for optimization problems in cryptography and machine learning
- Direct cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Secure $2M+ in annual R&D funding through grant proposals
- Present breakthrough findings at premier conferences (QIP, IEEE Quantum)
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish in Nature Physics
- Collaborate with AWS Braket and IBM Quantum on hybrid cloud solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of quantum computing research with peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit optimization
- Experience managing federally funded research projects ($500k+)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction topologies
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level quantum hardware interfaces
- Track record of translating theoretical models into practical implementations
