Responsibilities
- Safe and Efficient Driving: Operate delivery vans along designated routes in a safe and timely manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and Unload Operations: Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with clients at delivery locations, ensuring a positive experience and handling any complaints or special instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery logs, receipts, and paperwork, ensuring all records are up to date and compliant.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid Class B CDL (or equivalent) with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in the last 3 years).
- Driving Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery capacity.
- Local Knowledge: Must have a thorough understanding of Virginia Beach, the Hampton Roads area, and local traffic patterns.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to use handheld devices for navigation and logging.
