Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) for regional routes
- Adhere to DOT regulations and perform pre/post-trip inspections
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate with dispatch team for route adjustments and customer updates
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while prioritizing safety
- Report mechanical issues and vehicle maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Flexibility for early morning starts and occasional overnight trips
- Knowledge of North Carolina roadways and regulations
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging (ELD)
