Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles in a safe, efficient, and legal manner to ensure on-time delivery of freight.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify mechanical condition and safety compliance.
- Document mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times accurately using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and binders to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding route changes and delivery schedules.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic incidents immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, cargo securement procedures, and hazardous material handling.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) during loading and unloading.
