Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain strict adherence to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Implement student management procedures for a positive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Complete accurate incident and maintenance reports
- Participate in mandatory safety training sessions
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Minimum 2 years driving experience
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Flexibility to work early morning and afternoon shifts
- Strong knowledge of Newark area streets and traffic patterns
