Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for long-haul routes across the Midwest
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to DOT regulations and HOS
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status and delays
- Load/unload cargo safely and verify documentation accuracy
- Implement defensive driving techniques to maximize safety
- Participate in ongoing safety training and compliance updates
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and route planning
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Willingness to travel overnight and work flexible schedules
- Basic familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
