Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated) for overnight deliveries across Michigan and Ohio routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques using pallet jacks and forklifts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients for real-time updates
- Document delivery receipts and resolve minor discrepancies on-site
- Participate in quarterly safety training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR or regional driving experience
- Familiarity with Detroit metro area and Ohio highway systems
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (required)
- Basic forklift certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
