Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in a safe and professional manner to transport goods to designated destinations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, verifying quantities and handling documentation accurately.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in accordance with federal laws.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure the safety of passengers, other drivers, and the general public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues during transit.
