Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (trucks/trailers) safely and efficiently across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and documentation
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and compliance paperwork
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and defensive driving practices
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance troubleshooting and report issues
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Houston metro area and regional routes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
