Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local and regional deliveries within Washington DC metropolitan area
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, and documentation
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Navigate complex urban routes efficiently while meeting strict delivery deadlines
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD) and basic navigation systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed
