Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo using proper equipment and securement techniques
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and required documentation for compliance
- Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of recent tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Houston metro area and surrounding regions
- Strong commitment to safety and defensive driving practices
- Basic knowledge of freight documentation and bill of lading procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and potential overnight trips
