Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on designated local and regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Load and unload cargo securely, adhering to weight distribution and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and compliance documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while representing the company.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no recent DUI, reckless driving, or serious traffic violations.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card) valid for at least 6 months.
- Ability to pass a mandatory Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
