Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods on regional routes
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and safety protocols
- Perform pre-trip inspections, basic maintenance checks, and report vehicle issues
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation while adjusting for traffic/weather
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including bills of lading and logs
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Secure and verify cargo integrity at pickup/delivery points
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- Proficient in electronic logging device (ELD) operation
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT certification preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varied weather conditions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Team player with excellent communication abilities
