Responsibilities
- Transport temperature-sensitive biologics, organs, and pharmaceuticals across 15+ medical facilities
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and chain-of-custody records
- Operate refrigerated units (-20°C to 8°C) with real-time monitoring
- Coordinate with hospital staff for time-critical organ transplant deliveries
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Implement emergency protocols for transport delays or temperature excursions
- Train junior couriers in sterile handling procedures and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- 3+ years medical transport experience with sterile/hazardous materials
- Valid CDL-A license with HazMat endorsement
- Certification in BioTransport Safety (BTS) or equivalent
- Expertise in HIPAA, DOT 49 CFR, and IATA regulations
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and operate hydraulic lifts
- Advanced GPS navigation proficiency with route optimization
- Emergency vehicle operation certification
- Background check and drug screen clearance
