Responsibilities
- Transport sensitive medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and organs between hospitals, labs, and clinics using climate-controlled vehicles
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance protocols for all patient materials during transit
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS technology to meet critical time-sensitive deadlines
- Document all transfers with electronic manifests and maintain accurate chain-of-custody records
- Perform vehicle inspections and inventory checks to ensure compliance with biohazard safety standards
- Provide exceptional client communication through real-time tracking updates and proactive problem resolution
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical courier or specialized logistics experience with specimen handling
- Clean driving record with valid Class C license and ability to pass DOT physical
- Certification in biohazard transport (ASAP or equivalent) preferred
- Proficiency with route optimization software and electronic tracking systems
- Exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritize urgent deliveries
- Strong attention to detail with zero-tolerance approach to documentation accuracy
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
