Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following all traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise students during loading/unloading and ensure proper seating
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Provide a positive and secure environment for all students
Qualifications
- Valid Alaska Driver's License (Class B or higher preferred)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clear background check and driving record
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with school bus endorsement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work well with children
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
