Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness
- Supervise student loading/unloading and maintain bus discipline
- Communicate effectively with parents, schools, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district transportation policies
- Manage emergency situations (e.g., weather delays, medical incidents)
- Maintain clean, orderly bus interiors
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain CDL with School Bus endorsement (training provided)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent
