Responsibilities
- Operate a 15- or 72-passenger school bus safely and efficiently on assigned routes and field trips.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing seatbelt policies and maintaining order during transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, school administrators, and parents regarding schedules and delays.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely, especially those with special needs.
- Follow all traffic laws, company safety regulations, and state transportation policies strictly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or DUIs in the last 7 years.
- Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Ability to work early morning shifts (as early as 5:00 AM) and occasional afternoons.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Patience and the ability to manage student behavior positively and professionally.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED preferred).
