Responsibilities
- Drive school bus safely and efficiently along designated routes and to school activities.
- Ensure the safety and security of all students while loading, unloading, and on the bus.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Maintain order and discipline on the bus, ensuring a distraction-free environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
- Excellent driving record with no recent major violations.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (bus equipment/supplies).
- Willingness to undergo a background check and fingerprinting.
