Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and field trips following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain orderly student conduct and enforce bus rules during transportation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes or student concerns
- Complete accurate daily trip logs and incident reports as required
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic regulations and company policies
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clear driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Clean criminal background check and fingerprint clearance
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with children
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and occasional weekends
